With the return of the beautiful Jay to my patch over the last week I am pleased to report the sighting of another species that I have not seen locally for many a year. The Skylark. What a delight to sit and watch the beautiful singer soaring vertically up into the clouds. Brought back memories of my youth when we would encounter many of them on our country rambles around here. Unfortunately no photo (I was without my camera) but watch out hopefully for some in the future
